2014 Queen City Classic

2014 Queen City Classic chess tournament was held at Cincinnati, Ohio on March 22. Total around 700 students chess players from all over Ohio and several Midwest states participated in this biggest chess tournament for Midwest student chess players. Sixty six players are current students of Dragon Chess Center or affiliated programs. They won 50 individual trophies and 9 team trophies.

Comments:

1. Dragon students had a magnificent performance at this Queen City Classic chess tournament. Overall, the individual trophies are awarded to only slightly over 20% of top players (except the Kindergarten non-rated section). But about 76% of Dragon players won individual trophies. Dragon players took about one third of all individual trophies awarded at this Queen City Classic.

2. Amey Haridhas, Neev Gupta, Dinesh Bojja, Melissa Thomas, Rushi Bhatt, Sushanth Koppula won all five games and earned a perfect score of 5.0.

3. The Dragon players participated in competition in 11 sections. Dragon Chess Club team has three players or more in 9 sections. Dragon Chess Club team won team trophies in all these 9 sections. Eight of those team trophies are first places.
