2014 Fall Clover Chess Challenge

2014 Fall Clover Chess Challenge was held on November 8th at 4-H Center in Columbus. About 160 players participated in this tournament. This is the second big local chess tournament in Columbus Metropolitan area in this school year. It attracted many strong chess players primarily from Columbus area and also from other cities in Ohio. Eighteen players represented Dragon Chess Club team in this tournament. They won 13 individual trophies and four team trophies.

Note: 1. All Non-rated sections played six rounds. The perfect score is 6.0.
           2. Top five players won trophies in each section. A player with a score 4.0 or higher but lower than top five won a honorable mention trophy.

1. The Dragon team is much smaller than usual because of a couple of reasons. But, the Dragon chess players had an excellent performance at this tournament across most of sections.

2. Deer Run Elementary and Bailey Elementary Chess Clubs are also run by Dragon Chess Center. Deer Run has seven players and Bailey has two players in K-3 and 4-6 Non-rated sections at this tournament. Deer Run chess club team won the second place team trophy in 4-6 non-rated section falling only behind our Dragon team. Matt Butler from Deer Run won a 5th place trophy in 4-6 Non-rated section. Arjun Krishna from Bailey won a honorable mention trophy in K-3 Non-rated section with 11th place in this section.
