2013 Ohio Grade Level Championship

2013 Ohio Grade Level Championship was held at Kent, Ohio on November 23. Most top regional student chess players in Ohio for each grade gather together and compete with each other each year. The individual winners in each grade section are hailed as the "Grade State Champion" for the year. Total 326 students chess players from all over Ohio participated in this highest level chess tournaments for Ohio K-12 students.

Seventeen current students from Dragon Chess Center participated in the tournament.

Here are Individual top 3 for kindergarten, top 5 for 1st grade, and top 10 for all other grades:

    Edward Zha -
state champion
    Bhavya Singhal - 3rd place

1st Grade:
    Aizvereah Somakandan - 2nd place
    Ethan Fang - 4th place
    Abigail Stefanski - 5th place

2nd Grade:
    Kellan Ren - 3rd place

3rd Grade:
    Karthik Kallam - 8th place

4th Grade:
    Sneha Prabu - 7th place


Among all the seventeen participants from Dragon Chess Center, most of them are the first appearance at the Ohio Grade Level Championships. They did very well. Seven players won individual trophies.
